Micromax subsidiary Yu Televentures is all set to introduce the Yu Yunique 2 in India tomorrow. Just a few hours ago, the brand uploaded a teaser on its official Twitter handle, confirming the same. The Yu Yunique 2 will be the successor to the Yu Yunique, which launched nearly two years ago. We don’t know the exact specifications of the device yet, but we do know how it should look like thanks to a leak that had revealed the device’s retail box.

The Yu Yunique 2 is supposed to sport a metal unibody design, or at least that’s what the metal ring on the sides suggests. The phone should have capacitive navigation keys below the display, although those aren’t visible on the retail box. As for the specs, the Yunique 2 could feature a MediaTek MT6737 processor, 2/3GB of RAM, and Android 7.0 Nougat. These details come from the Geekbench listings of two devices with model numbers YU5011 and YU5012, which could be the two variants that the Yunique 2 would be made available in.
The Yu Yunique launched in September 2015 with a 4.7-inch display, a Snapdragon 410 chipset, and 1GB of RAM. It retailed for Rs. 6,500 in the country, competing with the Lenovo A6000. Additionally, the company had also introduced the Yu Yunique Plus in the country in 2016, with the device offering an additional 1GB of RAM while carrying the same other specs as its predecessor. The brand recently made a comeback in the country with the Yu Yureka Black. The Yureka Black is priced at Rs. 8,999 and offers a 5-inch Full HD display, Snapdragon 430 SoC, 4GB RAM, and Android 7.0 Nougat.
We will have more information on the Yu Yunique 2 when it goes official tomorrow, so stay tuned. Are you looking forward to the device, or do you think Yu’s smartphones are no longer attractive thanks to the slew of other value-packed smartphones on the market? Let us know in the comments!
