Vivo’s popular mid-range V5s selfie-focused smartphone is now available in a new Energetic Blue color variant in India. Quite obviously, the Energetic Blue V5s is identical to the other color variants when it comes to the hardware specifications. It is now available from Flipkart for Rs.17,990, Rs.1,000 lower than the launch price of the handset. Flipkart is also offering an exchange bonus of up to Rs.17,000 on the V5s. However, the exchange offer is only available at select locations, so some of you may not be able to utilize the offer.
The Vivo V5s features a 5.5-inch display with 720 x 1280 HD resolution and 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top. It runs on a MediaTek MT6750 64-bit Octa-core SoC clocked at 1.5 GHz, with the Mali-T860 GPU. In the memory department, the V5s comes equipped with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard memory, which can be expanded further by up to 256GB. However, the V5s comes with a Hybrid Dual SIM slot configuration, which means the second SIM slot also doubles up as a microSD card slot. That means you will not to choose between a second SIM card and a microSD card.
Vivo V5s sports a 13MP camera at the back, integrating phase detection autofocus and an f/2.2 aperture lens. On the front, it features a 20MP resolution camera with an f/2.0 aperture 5P lens and a Moonlight Flash for taking selfies in low-light conditions. The fingerprint scanner on the V5s is placed inside the home button on the front.
Connectivity specs include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 Low Energy, GPS with GLONASS, USB OTG support, and 4G VoLTE. Keeping the lights on is a decent 3000mAh capacity battery, without any sort of fast charging support. The V5s does include a dedicated AK4376 audio chip, so audio quality is quite impressive for a mid-range handset. As for the software, V5s runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with Vivo’s Funtouch OS 3.0 on top.
