Sony’s upcoming Xperia XZ1 has been leaked online yet again. This time, the live images of the smartphone have appeared online courtesy of SonyXperiaAilesi. Not only do the images show the upcoming smartphone from most angles, they also confirm some of the key features of the device. In terms of the design, Xperia XZ1 isn’t very different from the Xperia XZ Premium. In fact, you could consider the Xperia XZ1 to be a slightly smaller version of the Xperia XZ Premium. The fingerprint scanner is still mounted on the side of the handset, inside the precision-crafted power button.
Unfortunately, it looks like the live images that had surfaced online recently did not actually show the Xperia XZ1. Either the images were fake or they showed another upcoming Xperia handset that could be unveiled alongside the Xperia XZ1 and Xperia XZ1 Compact at Sony’s IFA 2017 press conference on the 31st of this month.
In terms of specs, one of the live images confirms the handset will sport a 5.2-inch sized Triluminos display with Sony’s X-Reality for mobile technology. While the resolution isn’t mentioned, the Xperia XZ1 will feature an HDR display similar to the one on the XZ Premium. At the rear, Xperia XZ1 will be equipped with a 19MP resolution Motion Eye camera with support for 960 frames per second slow-mo video capture. On the front will be a 13MP selfie camera, likely identical to the one on the Xperia XZs and the Xperia XZ Premium smartphones.
Under the hood, Xperia XZ1 will run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core 64-bit SoC. In terms of storage, the smartphone will ship with 64GB of UFS storage, although the exact version is not specified. Rest of the key confirmed features include an IP65/68 certification for dust and water resistance, PS4 Remote Play, 3D Creator, Hi-Res Audio, and S-Force front surround speakers.
