Lenovo has lined up a series of Motorola launches this month. After the June 21 event in Brazil, the company sending out “save the date” invites for the launch Moto Z2 and Moto Z2 Force on June 27. Both new phones will join the recently announced Moto Z2 Play.
The Lenovo’s June 27 event cheekily reveals the Moto Z2 design in the invite. A blonde lady holding a slim phone with a dual-rear camera is a juicy giveaway. Also, the Moto Z2 Force renders have already surfaced online in past two months.
As the second generation Moto Z-series phone, the Moto Z2 will house a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset, 4GB of RAM, and run Pure UI based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box. This phone is expected to feature a 5.5-inch Quad HD display.
The Moto Z2 shares a nearly identical design with the Moto Z2 Play. The Moto Z2 phone shows off a sleek profile and a brand new antenna design which runs around the corners at the back. The front fascia also sports a dual-tone dual LED flash on the left-hand side at the top.
The dual-camera setup with dual tone dual LED flash shows Motorola’s humble attempt with two cameras. Gold-plated 16 pogo pins also get a slight makeover but will continue to support the Moto Mods accessories. A redesigned fingerprint sensor is placed on the chin of the phone and will support the new One Button Navigation option.
The Moto Z2 Force will come with a ShatterShield family of Quad HD display with a shatterproof screen. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset will power this phone which shares a similar design as the Moto Z2.
We expect the Moto Z2 and Moto Z2 Force to support Motorola’s TurboPower system for fast charging. We shall get to know more details on the specs of both the phones on June 27. So stay tuned for the updates.
