Lenovo K8 Note

Lenovo has now launched its K8 Note smartphone in India. It is the successor the Lenovo K6 Note that was launched in the country last year. The Lenovo K8 Note will be exclusively available on Amazon.

The Lenovo K8 Note is a budget phablet offering from the Chinese OEM that aims to take on the like of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4. For those wondering, Lenovo has decided to skip the Note 7, possibly due to the dilemma surrounding the Galaxy Note 7. Lenovo however, claims that the K7 Note was indeed in development, but the company finally decided to let it pass as it was really a “Killer Note’.

The Lenovo K8 features a new aluminum unibody design with a 5.5 inch Full HD IPS LCD display on top. Furthermore. the display comes with Corning Gorilla Glass and an oleophobic coating. Under the hood, the phablet is powered by a MediaTek Helio X23 octa core processor. For the uninitiated, the Lenovo K6 Note came with a Snapdragon 430 chip. With the Killer Note, however, Lenovo decided to join the MediaTek bandwagon. That aside, the Lenovo K8 Note comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage.

The latest Killer Note is the first smartphone from Lenovo to come with a dual rear camera setup. It is composed of one 13MP Omnivision Purecell Plus and one 5MP Samsung BSI rear sensor. The dual rear cameras of the K8 Note are mated with a PDAF and a dual LED flash. Apart from that, the Lenovo K8 Note comes with a 13MP front facing camera. The phablet also comes with a fingerprint sensor located just below the rear camera sensors. Other features of Lenovo K8 Note include a Dolby Atmos Audio support and Lenovo’s own proprietary TheaterMax technology. Moreover, the Lenovo K8 Note comes with a dedicated physical music key. This key can also be remapped to perform various other functions.

Lenovo has decided to part way with its VIBE UI and will be including stock Android in all of its smartphone offering. The K8 Note is naturally not an exception. It runs on Android Nougat 7.1.1 and comes with built-in Google Assistant. It comes in two colors namely Fine Gold and Venom Black. Besides, it will come in two variants – 3GB RAM and 32GB storage priced at Rs 12,999 and 4GB RAM and 64GB storage at Rs 13,999. The first sale is scheduled for August 18 at 12 noon.
