LaVar Ball talked trash to Ice Cube, then possibly pretended to make a missed shot

Last week, Ice Cube issued a challenge to LaVar Ball. The founder of the BIG3 made a long jumper and then said he’d buy a pair (or 10) of the $495 ZO2 sneakers if Ball could make the same shot.

On Tuesday, Ball accepted Ice Cube’s challenge.

In a Twitter video, Ball playfully talked trash to Ice Cube before saying Ice Cube would have to buy 14 pairs for his Big Ballers AAU team if he made this jumper. LaVar owns Big Baller Brand and coaches the Big Ballers AAU team, so theoretically, he could just give his players the shoes himself, but where’s the fun (or profit) in that? The video, though, curiously didn’t follow the path of the ball.

The camera remained on Ball as he took the jumper and Ball just stood there repeating, “Still pretty!” We heard a loud clang against the rim and the bounce of the ball, but LaVar totally claimed he made the shot despite all evidence to the contrary.

The ball ended up far to the left, which would be indicative of a missed shot or a terribly slanted backyard. Twitter had some fun with the probable missed shot.

Better camera work would have put away any question.
