InFocus today introduced its latest smartphone for the Indian market, a budget handset with a huge battery inside. The new Turbo 5 will be sold exclusively by Amazon India from the 4th of July. InFocus Turbo 5 comes in two variants – one with 2GB of RAM paired with 16GB of built-in storage and another with 3GB of RAM coupled with 32GB of built-in storage. The 16GB variant is priced at Rs.6,999 while the 32GB variant will cost Rs.7,999. In terms of color options, InFocus is going to sell the Turbo 5 in only Pure Gold and Mocha Gold colors.
The InFocus Turbo 5 features a metal build, which isn’t very common in the budget Android segment. It sports a 5.2-inch IPS display with 720 x 1280 HD resolution and a 2.5D curved glass on top. The smartphone is powered by a MediaTek MT6737 64-bit quad-core processor clocked at 1.25 GHz, with the Mali-T720 MP1 GPU taking care of the graphics processing. Since the handset features a Hybrid Dual SIM configuration, you can choose to expand the onboard storage further with a microSD card, provided you use just a single SIM card slot.
The primary camera at the back of the Turbo 5 is a 13MP autofocus unit with an f/2.2 aperture lens and an LED flash. On the front lies a 5MP unit, also paired with an f/2.2 aperture lens. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS with A-GPS, FM Radio, and 4G VoLTE. The key USP of the new InFocus Turbo 5 is no doubt its huge 5,000mAh capacity battery. The company claims the Turbo 5 delivers up to 23 hours of talk time, 15 hours of continuous video playback, 50 hours of audio playback, and a standby time of up to 34 days. It can be used as a power bank as well, using the OTG functionality.
In terms of software, the smartphone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat OS out of the box, but the company has promised that it will update the Turbo 5 to Android O.
