Former NFL running back vows to get Jim Harbaugh fired at Michigan

Brandon Jacobs is not a fan of Jim Harbaugh. That much is clear. The former 49ers and Giants running back bashed the Michigan coach’s coaching chops earlier this week and then followed that up with a tweet promising to get him fired from his current job…

Jacobs claimed Harbaugh had “knew nothing” about football, and his success as the 49ers head coach was the product of a fantastic group of assistant coaches.

Via CBS Sports Radio:

“Jim, I had a lot of respect for Jim when I was there – before I got to know him,” Jacobs said on CBS Sports Radio’s Tiki and Tierney. “I enjoyed my time there, but we didn’t see eye-to-eye. I knew a little bit more about football than what they led on…

“Going somewhere where they don’t have route conversions into certain coverages was just absurd,” said Jacobs, who played nine NFL seasons. “They’re just running routes in the defense, getting people killed. Size and strength is what they had, and that’s why they won. Let’s be real. They had great assistant coaches, but Jim didn’t know what he was doing. Jim had no idea. Jim is throwing slants into Cover-2 safeties, getting people hurt. That guy knew nothing, man.”

Harbaugh didn’t take long to respond to Jacobs’ comments…

And now we have Jacobs on a mission to get one of the highest-paid coaches in college football fired. Good luck, Brandon.
