Baseball players often dedicate an outrageous amount of time and energy to coming up with complex handshake routines.
Well, nobody is going to top East Tennessee State’s Aaron Maher.
He devised the best handshake routine with the help of the bat boy. After every run, Maher — a 6-4, 235-pound junior — would pick up head coach Tony Skole’s son and lift him into the air before catching him and continuing the routine.
It really was spectacular.
You can really tell a lot of work went into that handshake, setting the bar for all baseball handshakes.
ETSU’s season came to an end on Sunday, but Maher is expected to be back next season. The handshake should live on.
