Asus is all set to unveil the Zenfone 4 on August 17. The Zenfone 4 made an appearance on the GFXBench over the weekend, which allowed us to take a look at the handset’s specifications in all their glory. Asus is also expected to launch the ZenFone 4 Pro at the same event where the Zenfone 4 will be announced, and we now have the Pro variant’s spec sheet as well thanks to GFXBench. The phone’s features have already been rumoured, and the benchmark listing is confirming that the Zenfone 4 Pro will be placed squarely in flagship territory.
According to the GFXBench listing, the Zenfone 4 Pro will feature a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920×1080) display; previous leaks have suggested a 5.7-inch Quad HD display, so it remains to be seen which of the two the device will come with. Under the hood, there will be an octa-core Snapdragon 835 SoC paired with the Adreno 540 GPU, 6GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage. The phone will run Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box, with the custom Asus Zen UI.
It is said the Zenfone 4 Pro might feature dual 12-megapixel rear camera, with PDAF, OIS, and 4K video recording support; the GFXBench listing suggests a 10-megapixel camera, but this particular benchmark is almost never accurate with camera resolution, so it is likely a false alarm. The front camera will be an 8-megapixel unit, and connectivity features should include Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, and Wi-Fi ac. The battery size isn’t mentioned, but rumours peg the battery capacity at 3,600 mAh with fast charging support.
In addition to the Zenfone 4 Pro, Asus is also expected to launch the Zenfone 4 Selfie, Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro, and Zenfone 4 Pro, as accidentally confirmed by Asus’ French website. The Zenfone 4 Max has already been launched in Russia earlier this year, but its global variant is expected to be unveiled with a smaller screen and a more modest battery capacity.
