Alleged press renders and complete specs of the upcoming YotaPhone 3 leaked online

Back in June, Russian smartphone brand Yota confirmed its plans of releasing the YotaPhone 3 later this year. Apart from its $350 price tag, Yota did not reveal anything else about the device. Even the design of the handset was a complete mystery, until now. Press renders as well as key specs of the YotaPhone 3 have now been leaked on the web, courtesy of a Russian website.

Like the previous YotaPhone smartphones, the upcoming YotaPhone 3 too will feature a secondary e-ink display at the back. The e-ink display will measure 5.2-inches diagonally with 720 x 1280 HD resolution. On the front will be a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with 1080 x 1920 Full HD resolution. Powering the smartphone will be Qualcomm’s highly efficient 14nm Snapdragon 625 octa-core SoC, clocked at 2.0 GHz. The octa-core chipset will be paired with 4GB of RAM, so multitasking performance should be pretty decent. As far as storage is concerned, the leak suggests the YotaPhone 3 will be available with either 64GB or 128GB of built-in memory. We do expect to see a microSD card slot as well, although it will most likely feature a Hybrid Dual SIM configuration like most new Android smartphones.

Moving on to imaging, the smartphone is said to feature a 12MP resolution camera at the rear and a 13MP selfie snapper on the front. The fingerprint sensor on the YotaPhone 3 will be embedded inside the physical home button on the front, which isn’t surprising given the fact that the handset’s rear panel will mainly be dominated by the e-ink display. The battery capacity will apparently be 3200mAh and will receive charge via a USB Type-C port. The presence of a USB Type-C port could mean the YotaPhone 3 will support fast charging as well. As revealed by Yota earlier this year, the base 64GB variant will be priced at $350 (Rs.22,400 approx). For the 128GB variant, consumers might need to shell out a $100 more. The smartphone will be going on sale in China and Russia next month, while the rest of us will probably need to wait until the end of the year to get our hands on it.
