Alienware debuts flagship Area-51 PC with AMD Threadripper or Intel Core-X series CPUs

Dell’s boutique gaming PC brand Alienware has announced its latest flagship desktop at E3 2017, the new Area-51. Alienware has updated the Area-51 gaming desktop with the latest multi-core processors from Intel and AMD. Alienware will be the exclusive OEM launch partner for AMD Ryzen Threadripper, which means you will not see Threadripper-powered pre-built gaming PCs from other OEMs until the end of the year.

The Alienware Area-51 gaming desktop can be configured with up to 16-core Ryzen Threadripper or 12-core Skylake-X CPUs from Intel. For maximum performance, the Area-51 Threadripper Edition desktop will feature an AMD X399 chipset motherboard with an unlocked BIOS and a factory overclocked processor with all cores overclocked simultaneously. The PC will support up to two NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti graphics cards in SLI or up to three AMD Radeon RX 580 graphics cards in Crossfire configuration.
