Alex Rodriguez told For The Win last month that he thought it was “funny” that “people were confusing (him) for the driver or the security guard” of Jennifer Lopez at the Met Gala.
On Thursday night, when he was on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, he hilariously went into more detail about being mistaken as Lopez’s security guard, and he described it as “one of the most humbling experiences of my life.”
Rordiguez said to Fallon:
“This is one of the most humbling experiences of my life. When I was on the Yankees and we won the world championships and we wore the pinstripes, you think you’re pretty cool, but then, you hang out with Jennifer and they confuse me with the security guard all the time.
“I promise you we were at the Met Ball and the paparazzi were screaming at me, not even in English, ‘Get the hell out of the way! Get out of the way! We want to take a picture!’”
You can watch him animatedly tell that story here:
Moral of the story: No matter who you are or how famous you think you are, if you’re walking a red carpet with Lopez, just move out of the way.
