Alcatel today announced the launch of a new Android tablet in the Indian market, dubbed the A3 10. The tablet features a 10.1-inch display and supports 4G LTE networks as well. Priced at Rs.9,999, the new Alcatel A3 10 will be available exclusively from Flipkart, where it is listed as the Alcatel Pixi 5.
The tablet’s 10.1-inch display supports multi-touch and offers 1280 x 800 resolution. While that may not be very high, it isn’t really a big disappointment at this price point. The tablet is powered by a MediaTek quad-core MT8735B processor clocked at 1.1 GHz, paired with 2GB of RAM. In terms of storage, the tablet comes with 16GB of internal memory, which can be expanded further by up to 128GB with a dedicated microSD card slot.
The Alcatel A3 10 comes equipped with a 5MP primary camera at the back and a 2MP camera on the front for video calls. Since most tablets are used as media consumption devices, the Alcatel A3 10 comes with dual speakers for decent audio output. Connectivity wise, the tablet comes with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 Low Energy, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, 4G LTE (voice calling support), and USB OTG. The battery inside the tablet is a 4600mAh unit, which isn’t all that bad for an entry-level 10.1-inch Android tablet. On the software side, the tablet runs on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system out of the box, with some customization from Alcatel added on top. The tablet measures 260 x 155 x 8.95mm in terms of dimensions and weighs in at 456 grams.
The new A3 10 was designed to provide our users with a complete immersive experience. The tablet comes with an array of features, that are unprecedented at this price and shall change the shape of this segment entirely, said Praveen Valecha, Regional Director at Alcatel India.
